Web users worry about privacy from snooping businesses

NEW YORK – It's not Big Brother, but "big business" that Internet users are more worried about.

A new survey found that nearly half of Internet-connected Americans age 16 and older worry about businesses checking what they do online. By comparison, 38 percent worry about the government doing so.

It's rare when Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo agree - but agree they have, on a standardized list of schemas, HTML code that will allow Webmasters to design Web sites that can be optimized and more easily found on the top search engines.

Malware is apparently the new spam. McAfee tracked more than six million unique malware samples in the first quarter, making it the most active quarter for malware ever.

Google Inc. is blaming computer hackers in China for a high-tech ruse that broke into the personal Gmail accounts of several hundred people, including senior U.S. government officials, military personnel and political activists.

Before today, experts considered HP’s WebOS (originally Palm’s WebOS before HP purchased Palm) to be more similar to the BlackBerry Phone OS.
